Imperial Prins

The Imperial Prins (*Pirnshex*) language was the official and dominant language of the Prins Empire, which came to be the lingua franca of much of Menaiceraum, especially in coastal areas from the 1100s through early 1500s AR, depending on the region. After the retraction of the empire to, more or less, its original homeland (and various oceanic islands), the descendants of the imperial citizens began to speak dialects that often became their own languages. Some of the major Imperial Prins daughter languages include:

• Sotrvalaix; in the Fwonnel Peninsula, influenced by Arodjun
• Itopalaix; in Saralka around the former Itopelabe colony, influenced by Alkan
• Spanshey
• Span-Prins, which in turn split into
  • Spanitei; in Xomil and former Permechikan lands, influenced by Permechikan
    • Spanshey; a creole with Permechikan as a base and lots of Prins influence
  • Zouneil; in Xomil and former Zhon lands
• Lornal; in the Lornal Mountains hinterlands, influenced by Nashan
